Protocol Officer: [Failure] I'm sorry, but I can't help you. I'll have to refer you to the Representative Kiosk. Protocol Officer: [Success] I suppose you're right.
It's not like you can't tell the state of things just by looking around. Protocol Officer: [Success] Of course, I could just tell you now. No sense in being so secretive. It's all fairly obvious. Protocol Officer: Mining operations here have not been a success. The ore is substandard, and there's less of it than surveys indicated.
With the Sand People raids on top of it all, it's no wonder this planet has been abandoned before. What makes the ore substandard?
Protocol Officer: No one knows. There are odd energy fluctuations on this planet, but they defy analysis or explanation. But the effect is obvious. Ore taken from Tatooine is useless for construction. It degrades incredibly fast. Word is getting out about it too. We're running out of buyers.
Czerka Corporation is not doing well here. Does this mean you have plans to pull out? Protocol Officer: The company would have to be foolish to stay. It will be costly, but in the end, leaving will be cheaper than staying. I imagine all the heavy equipment will be abandoned.
It's not worth shipping out things like sandcrawlers. Maybe the Jawas will find a use for them when we're gone. That's a laugh! What do you mean the planet was abandoned before? Protocol Officer: We can't ignore evidence that Anchorhead was settled more than once before, and abandoned each time. There's probably about a century between each attempt. Just long enough for records about why it failed to disappear. The Jawas scavenge ancient tech all the time.
It's a remote world. Who knows what's here? Let's go back to my first questions. Protocol Officer: Very well, though I do have work to get back to. Anything out of the ordinary happening? Protocol Officer: I assume that by "out of the ordinary" you are referring to the destruction of Taris? That is all anyone is talking about. I'm afraid Czerka Corporation is not offering any comment on those events.
We wouldn't wish to anger the participants. No desire to mistakenly associate with the losing side, hmm? Protocol Officer: Czerka Corporation policy is not subject to your approval. It is a sound business model. Save us your commentary. Know about anything more local? Protocol Officer: If you are looking for local events, I suggest you go to the swoop track. One of the few leisure industries on Tatooine. I think he's out by the city gates. I can't be more specific about what he wanted.
Our droid translators had difficulty with the message. Greeta Holda: Yes? What is it? If this is about mining or Sand People, you go to the Czerka officers. I just manage the storehouse. What do you have available for purchase? Greeta Holda: Mostly just standard Czerka provisions and supplies.
Not enough to keep the locals happy. Have a look. Thermal Detonator. Advanced Medpac. Plasma Grenade. Antidote Kit. Poison Grenade. Sonic Grenade. Computer Spike. Ion Grenade. Zabrak Battle Armor. Adhesive Grenade. Echani Battle Armor. Concussion Grenade.
Zabrak Combat Suit. Breath Mask. Military Suit. Motion Detection Goggles. Heavy Combat Suit. Energy Shield. Combat Suit. Sound Dampening Stealth Unit.
Powered Light Battle Armor. Average Flash Mine. Powered Battle Armor. Average Frag Mine. Average Gas Mine. Mandalorian Heavy Pistol. Average Plasma Mine. Hold Out Blaster. Mesh Underlay. Greeta Holda: You again? You want to buy something? If not, go bother the officers. Greeta Holda: Was there something specific you were looking for? You seem like you are looking for unique things. Do you have any moisture vaporators? No, just your normal fare. Greeta Holda: I may, but that is not something I usually sell to spacers.
You don't look like a moisture farmer. What do you want them for? Greeta Holda: Take a look. The best stocked storehouse on Tatooine.
Not that that's saying much. To exchange with Sand People to stop their attacks. That's not really your concern, is it? You just show me what you have. Don't risk angering me! Greeta Holda: Ah, exactly the kind of appeasement that Czerka Corporation doesn't like to support in their policies.
I like it. Greeta Holda: No, I suppose not. It wouldn't have mattered. Well, let me tell you what I have, then. Greeta Holda: Of course, of course, I'll show you what I have, but don't push your luck with those threats. It's not polite. Of course, they only produce one model right now. Greeta Holda: The price is credits for the pair. I won't break them up.
They function best when linked together. Greeta Holda: The price is for the pair. I'm not sure how you talked me into that ridiculously low bargain, but there it is. Could you be persuaded to lower the price? Greeta Holda: Well, I don't think that's very likely. I have to cover my costs, you know. Greeta Holda: I really don't think so.
I don't know how, but you've already convinced me to lower it as much as I can. It's a good deal. Who cares about their money? Greeta Holda: [Failure] I can't do it. I just can't. You'll have to come up with the money. You'll do as I say. I'm the biggest threat in the room. Greeta Holda: You're a big something, but not so much a threat.
That won't work on me, not in the heart of Anchorhead. If you did anything in here you wouldn't be safe anywhere. There are guards everywhere. Look, let's just do some honest business. I can't pay you right now. Greeta Holda: I'm sorry, but that is as low as I can go. There's nothing I can do about it.
Czerka regulations, you know. Greeta Holda: [Success] Well, I don't have much love for the company, not like little miss Protocol Officer over there. Greeta Holda: I'll lower the price to credits, but that is it. Don't even ask again. I'll take the moisture vaporators for Greeta Holda: Fine, fine, I assume you'll be able to handle the deployment of them? They are surprisingly light.
It's a pleasure doing business with you. Do come again. Credits Lost: Take them to the Sand People chieftain in the enclave. Greeta Holda: Oh, a swoop-jock, hmm?
I know I don't have the crazy suicide parts you're looking for. I want to ask about bounties. Greeta Holda: Not my affair. You want to hunt for Czerka Corporation you talk to the Protocol Officer. Greeta Holda: Then go ask a Czerka officer. I just collect my credits at the end of the day, just like the miners or guards.
Do you know about their operations on Kashyyyk? Greeta Holda: Look, it's not my business what Czerka Corporation does somewhere else. Greeta Holda: Their operations on Kashyyyk are in more trouble than you or I could ever give them.
Of course, they would never admit that. I don't much care about how Czerka operates, but I get a chuckle out of anything that gives them grief. And that absolves you of all responsibility? Greeta Holda: Now, what would the officers say? Oh yes. Go talk to the Kiosk on Coruscant.
You want to buy something or not? How do you think they are doing here on Tatooine? Greeta Holda: It doesn't matter what I think. Maybe they'll pull out, maybe they won't.
I'll man the store on the next rock. Greeta Holda: Very well, though I do have work to get back to. Greeta Holda: I hear the Sith are wasting their efforts fighting among themselves when they should be getting things done.
Like they did on Taris. Greeta Holda: Well, it's odd that I'm talking to the Manaan Sector Champion, but with Taris gone you likely don't have much choice about where to race. Greeta Holda: Well, the cost increase of kolto is downright weird. Maybe the Selkath think the destruction of Taris scared people enough they will pay inflated prices for medical supplies. Greeta Holda: Is that a coy way of referring to Taris going down?
You don't want my views on that. What about your opinions on Taris? Greeta Holda: You know what? At least the Sith seem to make things happen. How old is the Republic? It's stagnant. Every year ships get a little faster, droids get a little smarter, and people get a little fatter. That's about it for progress.
I suspect I'd do just as much grunt-labor under them as I do now. They'll at least shake things up. Even if it means the deaths of innocents? You like change; that's good. Greeta Holda: Nobody's innocent once their mother has left the room. That's just my view. Greeta Holda: You say that like you know something. Well, keep it to yourself. I like to watch this change from a distance, thanks. Okay, what about local events? Greeta Holda: Don't care about them.
I stay in the Czerka compound. We could be on a pleasure world, for all I care or know. Greeta Holda: Bye then.
Come back if you need any supplies. I'm looking for a miner named Griff. Protocol Officer: Griff? Never heard of him. No, I I don't remember a single Griff on the Czerka Corporation payroll. Maybe 20 credits will refresh your memory? Protocol Officer: That Let me think I would leave sooner if I knew. Protocol Officer: [Success] Oh, you mean that Twi'lek! Must have slipped my mind for a second. Yes, of course I remember Griff.
Protocol Officer: [Success] Can you spare me a few moments? I have something I want to get off my chest. I want to tell you about one of our workers.
His name was Griff. Protocol Officer: We hired that Twi'lek some time ago. Not a good worker according to his crew chief: always complaining and faking injuries to get out of work.
He entered false time sheets and slept through his shifts. We even suspected him of stealing Czerka Corporation supplies, although we could never prove it. Yes, that sounds like him. So you fired him? Protocol Officer: We would've fired him but we needed workers.
It would have been better for him if he had been fired. Then the Sand People wouldn't have gotten him. The Sand People? You mean he's dead? Protocol Officer: He was lost in a Sand People raid we suffered not too long ago. There were prisoners taken, but our rescue parties never found anyone alive.
In the end it just wasn't cost effective to keep searching. All miners sign a waiver absolving Czerka Corporation of liability in these circumstances. So your workers are all expendable? Protocol Officer: Czerka Corporation cares deeply for all of its employees. That's why we've started a bounty program to thin the Sand People numbers. Did the Sand People kill Griff or not! Protocol Officer: We didn't find his body so we have to assume he was taken prisoner.
Whether he's still alive, I couldn't say. That's all I can tell you. I shouldn't even have said this much; this is all privileged corporate information. I could lose my job! Is there some type of reward for saving him? Protocol Officer: As I said, all employees have signed waivers absolving Czerka Corporation of any financial liability if this occurs.
It is the industry standard. I suppose you could apply for special dispensation from the Czerka Corporation Representative Kiosk on Coruscant. Never mind. I want to ask you about something else. Whether he is still alive is anyone's guess. Mission: Hey, there. What can I do for you? I want to talk to you about your brother. Mission: Talk? What is there to talk about? Those sandpeople took my brother prisoner! Griff may be a slime but we have to go rescue him! We can't just leave him with those Don't worry Mission - we'll get him back.
He's probably already dead, Mission. She will tell you that Griff was abducted by Sand People. I spoke to the Sand People chieftain and he confirmed that I can take the prisoner. Since I had previously opened that gate, Griff was not there. I reloaded the game, went to the map screen and used the menu to return to the Ebon Hawk. Since I had Mission in my party at the time, I was approached by Griff as soon as I had transported to the spaceport.
Griff and Mission have a heated exchange, then Griff is available in the Czerka offices where he gives out the Tach gland quest as usual. Last edited by Andrei ; 5 Dec, am. Originally posted by Andrei :. Last edited by Gr3atsaga ; 5 Dec, am.
Squishy View Profile View Posts. This 'mission' is bugged as hell but I got a solution. After your Jedi training, I've already spoken to Mission about her brother, if that helps at all. I first went to Tatioone, spoke to the woman in the Czerka office to get a license and bought HK at the droid shop.
Outside, I helped the trapped guy surrounded by droids, killed a few Sandpeople to get suits and also killed the group waiting at the entrance to the next area, BUT I did not speak to the miners around that central machine. In the next area, I thought to put on the sand people suits and to go into their base, didn't walk to close to anyone and did not trigger anything.
When I went in, everyone was aggressive and I got the idea that I did something wrong. So I reloaded just before I went into their base and everyone was still mellow. So I traveled back to Dantooine, took Mission and Zalbar as companions, and 5 seconds after I left the ship, Lena approached us.
After the dialogue, I went back to Tatooine, but couldn't fast travel back to the Sandpeople base, so I had to schlep all the way through the desert again I took HK and Mission. This time I did approach the miners, but in regular clothes, and fought all the Sandpeople attacking them. I didn't really think much of it but this is where it gets interesting. He's in the door that's directly opposite the Jawas, if he's their you can't miss him.
Otherwise all I can reconmend is asking about him to Mission and Cerka. User Info: NormnStansfield. User Info: smeech NormnStansfield posted Regardless of how you resolve the Sand People confilct - diplomatically vs.
Pretty easy quest to miss out on if Tatooine is the first planet you visit post-Dantooine. Fortunately you aren't missing much, aside from a fetch quest that relieves you of some credits and grants some XP's and a bit of exposition on Griff and Mission's relationship, culminating in Mission's realization that Griff really is a self-absorbed deadbeat. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle. I don't feel tardy. I can usually get lena to show up before i leave dantooine.
